Abdollahian Slams Saudi Aggression against Yemen: No Place for Adventurism in Region

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian slammed Saudi Arabia&rsquos military aggression against Yemen as an adventurous act, saying that Iran will not allow such measures to jeopardize its common security with Yemen, in an interview on Saturday.

In an interview with IRIB on Saturday, Abdollahian said Iran will not allow others to imperil the security of Yemen, which he said is analogous with security of the region and Iran.

"The era of such adventurous moves has ended, and all sides should think about the region&rsquos security and playing a constructive role," he said.

He explained that Saudi Arabia&rsquos focus on the military attacks against Yemen has just "emboldened the Zionist regime and the terrorist groups."

Additionally, he once again voiced Tehran&rsquos support for the "Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue" and rejected any foreign meddling in the country&rsquos internal affairs.

He also deplored the muted response by certain countries on the continued Saudi-led air strikes against Yemen and the blockade of the nation.

Saudi Arabia launched its military aggression against Yemen on March 26- without a UN mandate- in a bid to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and to restore power to the country&rsquos fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi, who is a staunch ally of Riyadh.

Riyadh announced the end of the first phase of its unlawful military operations on April 21, but airstrikes have continued with Saudi bombers targeting different areas across the country in a new phase.
