A Yemeni delegation consisting of members of the Houthi Ansarullah movement and Popular Committees arrived in Oman to examine with the government in Muscat possible ways to resolve the conflict in Yemen.

Head of Ansarullah Political Council Saleh al-Samad and two spokespersons for the Houthis, Ali Al Qahum and Mohammed Abdul-Salam, are among the Yemeni delegation.

Abdul-Salam told Al Mayadeen TV that, "I hope there is consensus to stop the aggression on Yemen, especially ahead of the Geneva conference, and then a serious Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue which allows Yemenis to build their state and gain security and stability".

Houthi leader Abdel-Malek al-Houthi had earlier announced that the movement is willing to partake in UN-supervised peace negotiations in a neutral country.

Also, Hamza al-Houthi, a member of the Houthis’ political office, called on all Yemeni rival groups to partake in the forthcoming peace talks taking place in the Swiss city of Geneva.

Houthi told Russia’s RIA Novosti news agency that, "It is essential that the conference in Geneva started from the point at which the national inter-Yemeni dialogue, held under UN auspices and subsequently disrupted by the Saudi aggression, was interrupted".

He further emphasized that the participation of all parties in the talks is "necessary."

The Ansarullah movement has previously slammed similar talks that were held in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi Arabia’s US-led military aggression against Yemen started on March 26 - without a UN mandate - in a bid to restore power to the fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, who is a close ally of Saudi Arabia.

The United Nations [UN] says that over 1,800 people have been killed and 7,330 injured since March 19 due to the conflict in Yemen, which was exacerbated by the Saudi airstrikes.
