Yemeni army forces and members of Popular Committees have taken control of a strategic military base in Saudi Arabia on Friday, as the Kingdom continues its military aggression against Yemen.

Yemeni soldiers and Popular Committees fighters seized control of the al-Me’zab base in southwestern Saudi Arabia near the border with Yemen, the Arabic-language al-Masirah satellite television network reported on Friday.

The Saudi forces in the base fled the site en masse.

Furthermore, the Yemeni forces released footage of the military base following the operation to seize it.

Also on Friday, two Saudi border guards were killed and some military equipment was destroyed as Houthi Ansarullah fighters launched an attack against a Saudi military base at Takhyah area in Saudi Arabia close to the border with Yemen.

Additionally, Yemeni forces attacked a Saudi military base in Najran Province in Saudi Arabia, forcing soldiers there to flee.

Earlier on Thursday, Yemen’s army and Popular Committees took control of al-Tuwal heights in the Jizan region of southwestern Saudi Arabia. Yemen’s al-Masirah reported then that the Yemeni forces entered the mountainous area near the border with Yemen and destroyed several Saudi military vehicles as well as ammunition. Saudi troops were forced to withdraw from the region.

Saudi Arabia has been conducting military strikes against Yemen since March 26. The US-led Saudi aggression has been taking place without a UN mandate and in a bid to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and to restore power to fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, who is a close ally of Saudi Arabia.
