The Saudi-led aggression continued to bombard cities and towns in southern Yemen on Tuesday, as the targeted civilians said it killed 124 people in one of the deadliest days of its aerial war.
The bloodshed came two days after UN envoy Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed arrived in Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, bidding to secure a humanitarian ceasefire in a conflict estimated to have killed 3,000 people, mostly civilians.
The Saudi-led coalition warplanes bombed in and around Yemen’s second city Aden, targeting an intelligence headquarters and television studio in the southern port, said military officials.
Saudi-led raids were also carried out against gatherings and markets in neighboring Lahj province.
The Saudi-led coalition’s bombing of a market in a Lahj town on Monday martyred more than 41 civilians, according to an updated toll from medical officials.
The Saba news agency said that the Saudi-led air strikes killed 124 people on Monday in Lahj and other parts of Yemen, one of the deadliest days in the coalition air aggression launched on March 26.
