The Yemeni army backed by the popular committees, which include the Houthi Ansarullah movement killed a top militant commander in the country’s Marib province.
Officials in Sanaa told Yemen’s Saba News Agency that another 10 Saudi-backed militants were killed in attacks in Marib’s Serwah district.
The commander killed has been identified as Abdullah Rawaishad.
Saudi Arabia, which launched a brutal military campaign against Yemen in March 2015 has been propping up a wide array of militant faction across the war-torn country, including Al-Qaeda.
However the militants have been unable to make any significant progress on the ground, leading to a stalemated conflict where civilians bare the brunt of the brutality.
