Eight Saudi-backed militants were reportedly killed on Tuesday in Yemen’s northern Jawf province after coming under attack from the country’s armed forces and popular committees.
According to the country’s news agency, the Yemeni military attacked the Al Maton district in Jawf. A number of militants were also injured in the attack.
Meanwhile the Saudi-led coalition carried out fresh airstrikes in Yemen’s Saada province. The strikes targeted residential areas and farmland.
There has been no immediate word on the casualties. The Saudi-led campaign, which kicked-off in 2015 has already killed over 12,000 civilians including women and children.
