The US military claims that it launched 20 airstrike against terrorist positions in war ravaged Yemen since February 28, vowing to continue with attacks.
Pentagon spokesman Navy Captain Jeff Davis did not elaborate on the exact location of the strikes or those targeted in the alleged fight against al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP).
"We continue to target AQAP in Yemen and this is done in the interests of disrupting this terror organization that presents a very significant threat to the United States," Davis said.
The Americans have reportedly stepped-up their presence in Yemen following the election of Donald Trump, claiming to be fighting terrorists.
Meanwhile the Saudis are continuing their bombardment of Yemen amid reports that the US is moving to expand its military support for Riyadh’s war effort.
