A wave of Saudi airstrikes targeted a number of provinces across Yemen on Sunday (April 2).

The Saudi-led coalition reportedly struck the Yemeni capital Sanaa as well as the provinces of Hodeidah, Saada, Hajja and Mareb.

Hajja and Saada appear to have been hit the hardest with no less than a dozen airstrikes recorded on Hajja’s Haradh district and another 13 attacks across the northwestern Saada province.

There were no immediate reports of casualties.

Saudi Arabia has been leading a destructive military campaign against Yemen since March 2015 to reinstate former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi and crush the Houthi movement.

The campaign has seriously damaged the country’s infrastructure. Local Yemeni sources have put the death toll at well over 12,000 people, including many women and children.
