The Yemeni army’s missile forces launched a retaliatory attack Friday against positions of Saudi soldiers in the Kingdom’s Asir and Najran regions inflicting heavy losses upon them.
A military source disclosed that the missile force targeted the Rajla military camp with Katyusha rockets, killing and wounding scores of Saudi troops.
The Olayb headquarters, Al Ash military site, Al Hajez camp, as well as positions of Saudi soldiers in the Bin Laden Road and west of Raboua in Asir were also struck with Katyusha rockets and artillery fire.
The military source added that military operations by the Yemeni army and popular forces against the Saui army are ongoing in Jizan, Najran and Asir regions.
Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
About 11,403 people have been killed and over 19,343 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.
Yemeni forces have been engaged in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
