Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) said on Thursday that women in Yemen are most affected by the war plaguing the country.

In a statement, MSF stated that most women could not afford transportation costs or lack of transportation itself.

Hospitals being closed down also negatively affected pregnant women. The lack of doctors made it impossible for women to give birth under medical supervision to ensure the safety of the mother and her baby.

According to the organization, an unknown number of mothers delivered at home under difficult conditions. Many are subjected to the risk of dying from complication of childbirth, the statement added.
