Yemen’s Supreme Political Council (SPC) extended on Wednesday the term of the Council's President Saleh Al-Sammad and Vice-President Qasim Labuza for another four months.

The SPC is an executive body formed by the Houthi Ansarullah movement and the General People's Congress (GPC). It was formed on 28 July 2016 to rule the war-torn country. It carries out the functions of head of state in Yemen and is to manage Yemen's state affairs in a bid to fill in the political vacuum during the Saudi-led aggression against the impoverished country.

Meanwhile, a Republican Decree No. 3 for the year 2016 was issued, appointing Staff Brigadier Ali Hamod Hussein Al-Moshki as the Deputy Chief of Staff at the Ministry of Defense.

The Decree, which was issued on Tuesday, upgrades Al-Moshki to Major General.
