The Yemeni army and popular forces set a blaze a Saudi-paid mercenaries’ armored vehicle in the border desert near Medi, killing seven of its crew members, a military official told Saba on Monday.

The retaliatory attack took place on Sunday.

Meanwhile, snipers units of the national army shot dead a Saudi soldier in the Kingdom’s Al Cris military base in the border province of Jizan.

The Yemeni army and popular committees launch retaliatory attacks agaist the Saudi-led coalition forces and their mercenaries in response to the non-stop military campaign against the Yemeni people.

Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

About 11,400 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.
