Iran Calls for Collective Efforts to End Yemen Crisis

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, called on the regional states to join hands to put an end to the crisis in Yemen, which has been under a US-led Saudi aggression since March, as he said in a meeting on Sunday.

In a meeting with the outgoing Yemeni ambassador to Tehran on Sunday, Zarif said that, "All regional countries and the Muslim world should try to put end to these calamities through unity".

He underlined the need for unity among Muslim states towards the plots hatched against them and pointed to the western sanctions imposed against the Yemeni nation and called for vigilance of the Muslim states vis-à-vis the plots targeting the Muslims.

The US-led Saudi military aggression against Yemen started on March 26 -- without a UN mandate -- in a bid to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement, and to restore power to Yemen’s fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, who is a close ally of Saudi Arabia.
