A number of Saudi-paid militants were killed and injured in a missile shelling by the Yemeni army and popular forces on their positions in the Najran region, a military official said on Tuesday.

The rocketry forces fired 40 Katyusha missiles on the militant positions in al-Khadhra crossing of Najran, killing and wounding dozens of them.

The allied forces also destroyed three Saudi armored vehicles in al-Khadhra crossing point, and several armored vehicles in neighboring areas of al-Buqa crossing in the same area.

On Monday, a total of 20 Saudi-paid troops were killed and others wounded in al-Jadan district of Marib province in a military operation by the Yemeni army and popular forces.

The national forces targeted the militants’’ positions in al-Tarif military site in the district, striking the target accurately.

Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

About 10,000 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.

Yemeni forces have been engaged in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
