The Secretary-General of Iran’s Red Crescent Society [IRCS] recounted Iran’s efforts to help the suffering civilians in Yemen, as he said in a ceremony on Wednesday.

Speaking in a ceremony to pay homage to the crew of Nejat relief cargo ship, the Secretary-General of Iran’s Red Crescent Society [IRCS], Seyyed Amir Mohsen Ziaee, revealed the news on Wednesday that the IRCS is to dispatch the Arezou relief cargo ship for the war-stricken Yemenis after the successful mission of the Nejat cargo ship.

He reassured that Iran’s Red Crescent Society moves in line with all global regulations of the Red Cross and the humanitarian helps sent to Yemenis were measures following the global goals of the Red Cross.

He also confirmed that all IRCS measures were coordinated with Iranian authorities and that they did not follow any foreign state ruling above the International Committee of Red Cross.

Saudi Arabia has been continuing its brutal airstrikes against Yemen despite the deteriorating situation in the impoverished country.
Saudi Arabia has also blocked aid to Yemen.

The US-led Saudi military aggression against Yemen started on March 26 -- without a UN mandate -- in a bid to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement, and to restore power to Yemen’s fugitive former president, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, who is a close ally of Saudi Arabia.
