The leader of Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement, Sayyed Abdulmalik Al Houthi, delivered a televised speech to the nation late on Sunday on the occasion of the New Year in the Islamic lunar calendar.

In his speech, the leader stated that the Emiratis are the decision makers in the southern part of the country.

"Emiratis today are in control of all vital installations in the south, and the southerners have become powerless against the armed invaders," Houthi said.

He added, "The money which they give you is little compared to the wealth they want stored in your land," as he addressed the southerners.

Al Houthi reaffirmed Yemen’s steadfastness to confront all challenges imposed by the aggression countries, urging the people and officials to take their responsibilities seriously to rebuild the country.

"The Supreme Political Council and the state institutions are responsible to ensure developments in the economic sector," the leader said.

Houthi added, "The missile force was a typical model in developing itself and its rocketry science despite all the difficulties. Everyone must follow their foothold."

Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

About 10,000 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.

Yemeni forces have been engaged in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
