Saudi-led coalition fighter jets launched 20 air strikes during the past 24 hours on civilian properties in the capital Sana’a and its suburbs, officials said on Saturday.
Two raids hit Aser area east of the capital and three others targeted Alnahdain area south of the capital.
Two more air strikes hit Bani Mater district and Al Sabaha area on the southeastern suburb.
Al Haory area of Hamdan district was struck by four airstrikes, while khawlan district in Masoud region was hit with another air raid. Seven other strikes launched at Al Arkoub area targeted the telecom network and telecommunication towers on the southwestern outskirts of Sana’a.
The strikes caused huge damage to residential houses, private and public properties, and farms.
Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
About 10,000 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.
