Ansarullah spokesman, Mohammed Abdulsalam, welcomed on Monday the United Nations’ [UN] invitation to Yemen’s political groups to take part in the upcoming Geneva peace talks.

Abdulsalam said on Monday that, "The Ansarullah movement welcomes the UN-sponsored peace talks in Geneva".

Abdulsalam’s remarks came after the United Nations announced on Saturday that it would convene peace talks between Yemen’s warring factions in Geneva in Switzerland on June 14.

The UN-sponsored peace talks with the aim of achieving a political solution to the crisis in Yemen have been postponed due to Saudi Arabia’s antagonistic efforts.

Recently on Thursday, Ansarullah rejected the conditions set by fugitive Yemeni President Mansour Hadi for the resumption of peace talks.

Ansarullah’s rejection came in reaction to the recent statements of Hadi who proposed new conditions for peace talks in Yemen.

Abdulsalam made the remarks in a meeting with Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov in  the Russian capital of Moscow on Monday.
