At least 20 Yemeni detainees were released in Marib province on Friday, following a prisoner exchange between militias loyal to fugitive president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi and the Houthi Ansarullah movement.
According to Salim Alao, the coordinator with the non-governmental organization «Hood» in the provinces of Marib and Jawf, "the prisoner exchange deal was completed today (yesterday). Twelve prisoners were released from both sides."
He added, "The prisoner swap took place in Marib province which is under the control of Hadi’s forces as well as the supervision of the Yemeni Red Crescent, and through mediation by tribal elders close to Ansarullah."
For its part, the COM [Prisoners and Missing Persons] Foundation, which belongs to the Ansarullah movement and is sponsoring the exchange, posted on its Facebook page that "twelve members of the army and popular committees were released."
