The Iranian Parliament’s General Director for International Affairs said the silence of international community toward the heinous crimes of Saudi Arabia against the defenseless people of Yemen is ‘inexcusable’.
Former deputy minister for Arab-African Affairs, Hussein Amir Abdollahian, added that Riyadh is not able to bear the consequences of these shameless crimes against the Muslim people of Yemen and its behavior is indicative of its confusion and political imbalance.
"Saudi Arabia will ultimately have no option other than a political strategy on regional issues, including the crisis in Yemen," Abdollahian said, adding "the killing of innocent people of Yemen by Saudi jets even on the eve of Hajj rituals and the great Eid al-Adha, has exposed the true nature of the Riyadh regime now more than ever."
Amir-Abdollahian went on to say, "Yemeni people will be the ultimate victors in the scene and Ansarullah movement and Yemen’s Army have been successful in defending the independence and territorial integrity of their country against foreign invasion and the great number of terrorists."
He further stressed that the continued Saudi aggression against Yemen has exacerbated the unstable situation in the region as well as Saudi Arabia itself.
Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.
About 10,000 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.
