Army Strikes Back at Saudis in Taiz

The Yemeni army backed by the People’s Committees and the Houthi Ansarullah movement bombed early Friday a gathering of Saudi-led coalition forces in the province of Taiz.

In retaliation to the continuous Saudi-led air raids, the allied forces launched rocket attacks at Saudi mercenaries in the Thobab area.

The army also bombarded the coalition’s military equipment in Mizrab area. A number of Saudi forces were killed and wounded in the retaliatory attacks.

Saudi Arabia began its deadly campaign against Yemen in late March 2015. The strikes were meant to undermine the Houthi Ansarullah movement and restore power to fugitive former president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

About 8,300 people have been killed and over 16,000 injured since Riyadh launched the airstrikes. The Saudi aggression has also taken a heavy toll on Yemen’s facilities and infrastructure.

Yemeni forces have been engaged in retaliatory attacks against the Saudi forces deployed in the country as well as targets inside Saudi Arabia.
