The United Arab Emirates said Saturday that one of its soldiers was killed in Yemen, where a Saudi-led coalition has been bombing the country for almost 11 months.

The soldier was identified as Mohammed al-Dhahnani. According to a statement by the armed forces, al-Dhahnani died "in an accident when his military vehicle overturned while performing his national duty" during coalition attack.

It did not provide further details on the accident.

On Sunday, the UAE announced the death of another soldier, Obeid al-Bedwawi, in a similar accident in Saudi Arabia, where some UAE forces taking part in Yemen offensive are stationed.

The UAE has lost more than 70 soldiers in Yemen since the Arab coalition launched its military aggression in support of fugitive former President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi’s regime in March.

More than 8,300 people, among them 2,236 children, have been killed and 16,015 others injured since the start of the aggression. The strikes have also taken a heavy toll on the impoverished country’s facilities and infrastructure, destroying many hospitals, schools, and factories.
