The official spokesperson for the Yemeni army, Brigadier General Sharaf Ghalib Luqman, confirmed that the Yemeni army’s operation targeting Saudi-led forces by a "Toshka" ballistic missile near Bab al-Mandab was based on intelligence information indicating a group of coalition forces, including "Blackwater" mercenaries present in the Gin valley in the region as they were preparing to launch an attack towards Aharijh in Taiz.
In an exclusive interview with Al-Ahed Website, Brigadier General Lqman, also confirmed that there had been hundreds of deaths in the ranks of aggression forces.
He pointed out that there is a continuous attempt by the Saudi-led coalition to control some of the Yemeni islands. However, he assured that the army is capable of clearing those islands from mercenaries.
Luqman stressed that the cease-fire started since the dawn, adding that: "We are committed to the agreements, and we respect international resolutions, but it is important that no breach happens, because if they violated the truce then we will have another response."
Luqman pointed out that the US-backed Saudi-led coalition refused to list anti-terrorism on the Geneva talks’ agenda because it created it. He expressed hope that a permanent cease-fire would be reached.
Luqman concluded the interview stating that the source of terrorist groups in Yemen is Saudi Arabia, adding that: "if Riyadh wanted to stop these terrorist organizations it can, but Saudi Arabia wants to stop them from one side and ignite it from the other."
