Yemen's government forces on Friday conducted a prisoner swap with forces of the resigned regime of Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi in the country's northeastern province of al-Jawf, a military official told Xinhua.
A local military official said on condition of anonymity that "the Sixth Regional Military Command succeeded in exchanging prisoners with representatives of the Houthi group in al-Jawf province."
He confirmed that Hadi loyalists released four members of the Houthi group captured during previous battles.
In return, the Houthis released four hadi-backed militants.
Yemen's local tribal mediators have more than once succeeded in completing prisoner exchanges between government forces and Hadi loyalists.
