An unmanned drone has crashed in the central Yemeni province of Ma’rib as Saudi-led aircraft keep pounding the crisis-hit country of Yemen.

This is while a Saudi-led coalition backed by the United States has been carrying out a military aggression on Yemen by launching airstrikes against the country since March 26. The airstrikes have not been authorized by the United Nations [UN].

Local officials and Yemeni witnesses said on Monday that the unmanned drone crashed in the Wadi Abida area of Ma’rib.

The drone’s origin was not immediately known.

The incident came weeks after Yemen’s Ansarullah fighters captured a Saudi surveillance drone in the northwestern province of Sa’ada in Yemen.

On July 6, Yemeni army soldiers backed by Houthi Ansarullah fighters downed a Saudi UAV while conducting a surveillance mission in Sa’ada as well.

Also in early May, Ansarullah fighters took possession of a Saudi surveillance drone, which had parachute-landed also in Sa’ada due to a technical glitch.
