In retaliation for the US-led Saudi aggression, the Yemeni army and the Popular Committees forces fired rockets and artillery shells at military bases in Saudi Arabia’s Jizan province on Saturday, leaving several Saudi soldiers killed.
The Yemeni forces fired 40 missiles at the districts of al-Qamar and Sudanah near al-Qarn military base in Saudi Arabia’s Jizan on Saturday.
The Yemeni army and the Committees also fired artillery shells at a concentration center of the Saudi soldiers and Saudi military vehicles in al-Maayin military base in Jizan, according to Yemen’s al-Massira TV.
Meanwhile, al-Massira TV also reported on Saturday that scores of militants loyal to fugitive Yemeni president, Abed Rabbu Mansour Hadi, were killed in the Yemeni province of Ma’rib. Eight Saudi military vehicles were also destroyed.
On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies backed by the United States began to launch a military aggression against Yemen by launching air strikes against the country in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former Yemeni President, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Saudi Arabia.
The airstrikes have not been authorized by the UN.
As a result, the Yemeni army backed by popular committees and tribal fighters has been responding to the aggression by targeting several Saudi border military posts and cleansing several areas across the country from Hadi and al-Qaeda-linked militias.
