Yemeni authorities announced on Saturday it would close Sana’a airport for two weeks over coronavirus concerns.

The measure included flights operated by United Nations’ organizations taking part in relief efforts to the war-torn country.

Earlier this week, the Joint Technical Committee to prepare for a response to the coronavirus epidemic confirmed that no case of Covid-19 has been registered in Yemen so far.

For its part, the country’s High Ministerial Committee for Combating Epidemics called on the airlines to reduce the number of flights in the areas under the control of the Saudi-led coalition starting from Saturday.

It also urged the Joint Technical Committee to submit daily reports and hand daily results to the Chairman and members of Yemen’s Supreme Committee.
