The leader of Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement Sayyed Abdul-Malik al-Houthi said that the repeated Saudi attacks and air strikes obstruct all peace efforts.

Sayyed al-Houthi made his remarks during a meeting with Martin Griffiths, the UN envoy to Yemen.

The leader of the revolutionary movement stressed that the siege is the reason of humanitarian and economic disasters in Yemen. He reminded the UN envoy of the importance of prisoners and detainees exchange issue. He explained the urgency of finding solutions for all war prisoners.

It is noteworthy that this meeting is the second visit of the UN envoy in Yemen within ten days.

Saudi Arabia and a number of its allies launched a devastating campaign against Yemen in March 2015, with the goal of bringing the government of former President Abd Rabbuh Mansur Hadi back to power and eliminating the Yemeni Houthi Ansarullah movement, whose fighters have been significantly helping the Yemeni army in defending the country against invaders since the onset of war.

The US-based Armed Conflict Location and Event Data Project (ACLED), a nonprofit conflict-research organization, estimates that the war has claimed more than 100,000 lives since.
