The Yemeni army on Monday thwarted a large-scale offensive by pro-Hadi militias in the Taiz Governorate of western Yemen.
According to reports, Hadi loyalists attacked the positions of the army in Al-Rabah, Jabal Al-Qarn, Najd al-Tair and Tabab Yassin areas west of Taiz city.
While no gains were reported, Yemen’s Al-Masirah TV said that the allied forces killed scores of militias in the operation.
No further details were released at this time.
At the same time, the army backed by the popular committees have managed to capture several areas inside the Marib Governorate of northern Yemen, putting their troops in positions of entering the Al-Jawf Governorate.
This latest advance comes after the army managed to capture the entire Nihm District of western Sana’a.
