Thousands of people took to the streets of the Yemeni capital Sana’a on Monday to condemn last week’s assassination of top Iranian general Qassem Soleimani, the deputy head of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) or the Hashd al-Shaabi Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and their companions in Baghdad.
The protesters lifted pictures of both men and chanted anti-US slogans.
The military leaders and their companions were assassinated by a US drone strike on their convoy near Baghdad International Airport late on Thursday.
