Spokesperson for the National Salvation Government and Minister of Information Dhaifallah al-Shami on Friday strongly condemned the US crime of that the Quds Force Commander General Qassem Soleimani, and Deputy Head of the Iraqi Popular Mobilization Unit (PMU) Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis in Baghdad.
Early on Friday, the United States carried out a drone strike killing Soleimani, Al-Muhnadis and their companions near Baghdad International Airport.
Al-Shami called for unity in the fight against the global arrogance, the US and Israel, which target anyone who supports the nation’s just causes, especially the Palestinian cause.
He also confirmed that the assassination of the two military leaders reveals the American-Israeli connection with ISIS and al-Qaeda.
Soleimani and al-Muhandis had a major role in defeating these terrorist organizations in Iraq and Syria.
The spokesperson stated Iraq’s legitimate right to respond to this “treacherous criminal targeting”.
