President of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council (SPC) Mahdi al-Mashat on Monday met with the United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen Martin Griffiths and his team, in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Habtoor.
They officials discussed the latest efforts made by the UN envoy to reach peace and implement the Hodeidah Agreement.
During the meeting, al-Mashat confirmed that the Political Council and the national salvation government are keen on achieving peace and an end to the war.
He affirmed that the other party did not implement any of its obligations. On the contrary, it is escalating its violations of the Hodeida agreement.
He explained that the aggression coalition has not taken any step even on the humanitarian side, noting that Sanaa International Airport is still closed to tens of thousands of patients and stranded, while the aggression forces and their mercenaries are stepping up the economic war aimed at starving the Yemeni people through the detention of ships and blocking the entry of food.
For his part, Dr. bin Habtoor stressed that peace needs a conducive atmosphere to be achieved, which does not apply so far to the behavior of the aggression states and their mercenaries, and the simplest example of that is the continued closure of Sanaa Airport.
