US-led Saudi Warships Fail to Approach Bab al-Mandeb

The Yemeni military foiled attempts by the US-led Saudi aggression warships to approach the Yemeni shores in the Bab al-Mandeb Strait area under heavy hostile aerial bombardment and shelling on Friday.
The Yemeni army and Popular Committees units stationed in the Strait clashed with the attacking forces using appropriate weapons and forced them to retreat.
A source from the Yemeni military said that the army and the Committees are deployed at fixed points in the Straits and its environs, and that there will be people on the lookout for any new aggressive attempts toward the Bab al-Mandab.
"Aggressors will be a heavy price", the source said.
Also on Friday, a large number of Saudi officers and soldiers were killed in the Yemeni army’s operations in the Jizan and Najran regions, well-informed military sources announced.
"Several Saudi military men were killed in the Yemeni army and Popular Committees’ operations in the city of Najran", the sources close to the Committees said.
Additionally, reports from Jizan said that several Saudi soldiers and officers were also killed in heavy clashes in the place.
Saudi Arabia has been bombarding Yemen for 188 days now.
On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies backed by the United States began to launch a military aggression against Yemen by launching air strikes against the country in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former Yemeni President, Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Saudi Arabia.
The airstrikes have not been authorized by the UN.
As a result, the Yemeni army backed by popular committees and tribal fighters has been responding to the aggression by targeting several Saudi border military posts and cleansing several areas across the country from Hadi and al-Qaeda-linked militias.
