Yemen's Houthi revolutionaries on Tuesday revealed that they have captured a number of Sudanese soldiers in northwestern Yemen.

Abdelkader Mourtada, the Chairman of the National Committee for Prisoners' Affairs, said the soldiers were taken captive in Hajjah province last week.

“The Sudanese people were able to get rid of Bashir through their popular revolution, but they have not been able to get rid of the Saudi/Emirati tutelage,” Mourtada wrote on Twitter.

Sudan has deployed forces in Yemen as part of a Saudi-led coalition that has launched a massive air campaign in 2015 against in an attempt to forcefully reinstate the resigned regime of Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

Tens of thousands of Yemenis have been killed in the conflict, while another 14 million are at risk of starvation, according to the UN.
