Yemeni Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf Abdullah met with the director of the UN special envoy’s office for Yemen Nicholas Davies to discuss latest developments to end the Saudi-led aggression coalition war on Yemen.

During the meeting, the officials reviewed the results of the recent visit by the UN envoy and his efforts to end the aggression and lift the comprehensive siege in light of the peace initiative launched by the President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi al-Mashat.

Sharaf called on the aggression countries to take the initiative as an opportunity for peace, warning the other party not to continue in injecting the Yemeni bloods.

The minister added “the aggression exerts a lot of efforts in preventing the entry of ships loaded with oil derivatives and food aid to Hodeida port in an attempt to impose a policy of collective punishment against the Yemeni people.”

The Yemeni official also stressed the importance of reopening Sana’a International Airport as a message of peace and a window to ease the suffering of the Yemeni citizens.

For her part, the UN official said that the Special Envoy would exert more efforts between all parties to push towards a peaceful political solution and a sustainable political settlement.
