Death Threatens Lives of Thousands of Patients: Yemen’s Health Minister

Yemen’s Minister of the Public Health and Population in the National Salvation government Dr. Taha al-Mutawkil said on Sunday that “death is threatening the lives of thousands of patients.”

“The Saudi-led coalition deliberately kills the Yemeni people by holding of the oil derivatives ships,” he said in an interview with Al-Mayadeen TV channel.

Al-Mutwakil explained that the operations and intensive care departments in a number of hospitals are about to close due to the shortage of oil derivatives and the prevention of their access to Hodeida port.

He launched an urgent distress call to the international community, saying “We appeal to the international community to intervene to find a solution to this humanitarian crisis.”

The coalition, led by Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, has continued for nearly two months to hold 13 ships loaded with oil derivatives at sea and prevent them from entering the port of Hodeida although the UN had inspected them and given them licenses.
