Yemen’s Foreign Ministry on Wednesday strongly condemned the Bahrain conference where the Trump administration is unveiling one part of its so-called ‘Deal of the Century’.
In its statement, the ministry renewed the Republic of Yemen’s great stance in support of the Palestinian people and its rights in defending Islamic and Arab holy sites, as well as establishing an independent Palestinian state with al-Quds as its capital.
“Yemen calls on the Arab League and the Islamic Cooperation Organization to hold two summits to discuss the conspiracies against the Palestinian people and to defend the holy places that are being targeted by the Zionist entity,” the statement said.
The Palestinians boycotted the Manama meeting, dismissing it as an attempt to “liquidate the Palestinian cause”.
Both the Palestinian leadership and business community have also rejected the Trump administration’s plan, which promises financial investments but ignores the decades-long Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories.
