Yemen’s Minister of Public Health and Population held the Saudi-led coalition bombing Yemen and the United Nations responsible for the deaths of dozens of Yemeni patients.

“We the states of aggression and the UN responsible for the deaths of patients as a result of the continued blockade that is preventing the entry of medicines, devices and equipment for patients with cancer, kidney failure and other chronic diseases’” Dr. Taha Al-Mutawakkel said in a statement on Friday. “This as well as the closure of Sana’a International Airport has raised their suffering.”

According to al-Mutawakkel, there are 8000 kidney dialysis patients who have no access to medication, adding that the number of cancer patients has increased to 60,000 cases in the past three years.

The Yemeni official accused the Saudi-led coalition of denying the entry of dialysis devices and cancer treatment machines.

He added that the use of internationally banned weapons by the coalition has caused the increase in the number of cancer cases, stressing on the absence of radiation devices “to properly diagnose the inhabited areas the aggression targeted with radioactive bombs.”
