Four soldiers loyal to former Yemeni President Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi were killed Tuesday in an ambush in Yemen's Hadhramaut province, according to a local military source.
An improvised explosive device went off while a Yemeni military patrol was passing through Hadhramaut’s city of Seiyun, a military source told Anadolu Agency on condition of anonymity as he was not authorized to speak to media.
Following the blast, a group of gunmen opened fire on the patrol, killing four and injuring several others.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Yemen has been wracked by chaos since 2014. The crisis escalated in 2015 when a Saudi-led military coalition launched a devastating air campaign aimed focerfully reinstate the resigned regime.
