Yemeni Defense Minister: We’ve Changed From Defense To Offense

Yemen’s Defense Minister Major-General Mohamed Nasser al-Atefi affirmed on Monday that the national army and popular committees managed to develop their defense abilities in a bid to confront the Saudi-led aggression against the impoverished Arab country.

During a graduation ceremony of western coast forces, al-Atefi the joint forces managed to change their strategy from defense to offense on the level of military and operational plans drawn up by the Ministry of Defense and Chief of Staff.

Al-Atefi stressed that the enemy will not achieve its ambitions and goals in Yemen, hailing the Yemeni people over their steadfastness and support offered to the army and popular committees.

On the Hodeida agreement that was reached during UN-sponsored talks in Sweden last December, he lashed out at the Saudi-led aggression for violating the deal.

“We extended our hands for peace according to the Sweden agreement, but the enemy exploited this deal for preparing to escalate attack on Hodeida with large number of forces and various types of.”
