At least six people have died of cholera and 44 others affected since Monday in Yafia’a district of Lahij province, medical sources told Yemen Press Agency.
The sources confirmed a cholera outbreak in the area. The epidemic spread widely amid silence of the authorities.
According to the sources, sewage leakage in residential neighborhoods is the main cause of the spread of the disease.
Yemen’s southern province of Lahij has been under the control of UAE forces since late 2015.
