Yemen’s National Committee for Prisoners’ Affairs on Monday headed to Jordan’s capital Amman to attend meetings with representatives of the resigned Hadi regime to discuss the final stages of the prisoner exchange agreed upon in Sweden.
The head of the national committee, Abdulqader al-Murtada, said that the meetings to be held under the auspices of the United Nations aim to address problems and obstacles that have hitherto prevented implementation of the prisoner exchange agreement.

Hadi Haig, who is tasked by the Hadi regime with the prisoner file, said that the meeting would be held on Wednesday and that the agreement includes five stages, explaining that the deal has been suspended at the third stage.
The two negotiating parties submitted lists that included 15,000 prisoners and detainees from both.
Jordan is trying to contribute to resolving the Yemeni crisis in coordination with the United Nations and the parties in the conflict.
