Former French ambassador to Yemen, Gilles Gauthier, has expressed optimism about the start of the upcoming negotiations, revealing the falsity of the Saudi-Emirati coalition in its war on Yemen.
“I have been optimistic for a month to stop the war on Yemen. The US recent endeavors are not indicative of its love for Yemen and Yemenis, but for its fear of losing Saudi control over Yemen,” Gilles Gauthier said during a show aired by France24 channel on Tuesday.
He added that every day Saudi Arabia is in a loss and will not be able to advance one inch in the Yemeni mountains, no matter the amount of forces it uses.
Gauthier stressed that since the beginning of the war, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia Mohammad bin Salman (MBS) is in a vulnerable position and wants to get out of the dilemma. A weakness the Americans are exploiting.
The former ambassador said that the world should understand that the resigned Hadi regime is just a ghost that represents nothing and cannot even control Aden. The Hadi regime is only a tool for Emiratis and Saudis, according to Gauthier.
He further affirmed that the Houthis are now the striking force and are the majority on the ground, especially in northern Yemen.
Speaking about the alleged Iranian presence in Yemen, he said: “There are no Iranians in Yemen. This is propaganda, and the US knows it very well. There is no evidence to prove any Iranian presence.”
Gauthier’s statements are especially important considering the fact that France is a major European supporter of Saudi Arabia and has delivered large amounts of weapons to the kingdom
