Saudi Arabia’s southern province of Asir was the scene of intense fighting on Wednesday as Yemeni forces pounded Saudi-backed fighters in the area.
A video released by the Yemeni army and the country’s popular committees shows an attack on Saudi positions. As the battle intensified Saudi jets appeared overhead and began dropping bombs.
But the Saudi fighters were still forced to abandon their posts with many seen running away.
The fighting reportedly took place in the Majzah border area.
At another border crossing of Alib, Yemeni forces shelled Saudi positions.
According to the Yemen Press Agency, an unspecified number of casualties were reported.
