Yemen’s air defenses reportedly downed a drone belonging to the Saudi-led coalition over the country’s western province of Hodeidah on Monday.
The Yemen Press Agency described the aerial vehicle as a “large espionage drone”.
Security officials who spoke to the agency said that the drone was brought down over Hodeidah’s northeastern Duraihimi district.
Saudi Arabia and a number of its regional allies launched a devastating military campaign against Yemen in March 2015, with the aim of bringing the resigned regime of Hadi back to power and crushing the country’s popular Houthi Ansarullah movement.
