The UN’s Yemen envoy, Martin Griffiths, arrived on Sunday in the Yemeni capital Sana’a, without making any statement to the media.
Griffiths is pushing for new peace talks after a failed attempt to bring the two sides together in Geneva earlier this month.
The Houthi revolutionaries kept away from the talks after the UN failed to guarantee the return of their delegation from Switzerland to Sana’a and to secure the evacuation of wounded fighters to Oman.
Saudi Arabia and its allies intervened in 2015 in the conflict between embattled former Yemeni President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi, whose regime resigned in January 2015, and the Houthis.
Nearly 10,000 people have since been killed and the country now stands on the brink of famine.
