Warships belonging to the Saudi-led coalition shelled several sites controlled by the Houthi Ansarullah movement in Yemen's western port city of Hodeidah on Tuesday evening.
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) operating as part of the Saudi-led coalition reportedly carried out the naval bombardment and targeted Houthi-controlled sites in the AlHali area of Hodeidah province.
Hodeidah residents reported huge explosions across the city as a result of the attacks that apparently hit arms caches.
The attacks come amid growing concerns over a possible showdown in Hodeidah between the Houthi and the coalition’s forces and proxies.
