The Saudi and UAE-backed troops in western Yemen are determined to capture the strategic port-city of Hodeideh from the Houthi forces.
However, this offensive is proving incredibly costly for the Saudi and UAE-backed troops, as the Houthi forces continue to inflict heavy losses on the invading fighters.
On Wednesday, the UAE-backed Southern Resistance troops attempted to break into the northern part of the Al-Jah area, despite lacking the territorial advantage.
The battle would ensue for more than ten hours and end with the Southern Resistance retreating from the area in order to avoid any more losses at the hands of the Houthi forces.
According to the Houthi forces’ official media wing, the first part of the battle saw the UAE-backed troops suffer more than ten casualties, while also losing one armored vehicle and two technical vehicles.
The death toll for the entire battle is still unknown; however, the Houthi forces claim it was significant.
