Thousands of angry protesters packed the streets of Yemen’s capital, Sana’a, on Tuesday to condemn the Saudi aggression against the impoverished country.

People gathered on Matar Street in Sana’a on Tuesday for a protest entitled, "Rejection of the Colonial Project, its Crimes and Yemen’s Siege."

The protest, which was planned by the popular committees of the Houthi Ansarullah movement, saw people chanting slogans against Saudi Arabia, the United States and the Zionist regime.

The protesters voiced anger at the global inaction on the Saudi aggression against Yemen, saying that international organizations have a responsibility to protect Yemenis from the attacks.

Additionally, demonstrators expressed their full support for Ansarullah in its retaliatory attacks against Saudi targets and urged the movement’s leadership to use its "strategic options" in the face of the Saudi aggression.

The protest ended with the participants adopting a final statement in which they reiterated that the Saudi siege on their country will not deter the Yemenis in their steadfastness and resilience against the aggression.

The statement also called for an international investigation into the crimes that Saudi Arabia and their allies have committed in their aggression on Yemen over the past four months.

On March 26, Saudi Arabia and some of its Arab allies backed by the United States began to launch deadly airstrikes in Yemen in an attempt to restore power to the fugitive former Yemeni President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Saudi Arabia.

The death toll of civilians has risen to at least 1,916, with another 4,186 civilians wounded since the escalation of the conflict in Yemen in March, according to the United Nations [UN] recently last week.
