Yemeni Missiles Strike Saudi Command Center & Airport – Reports

Local Editor

Ballistic missiles fired by Yemen’s armed forces have reportedly stuck highly strategic targets in Saudi Arabia southern provinces of Najran and Jizan.

According to Yemen’s Al-Masirah television network, the missiles hit a Saudi military command center and an airport.

But Saudi state-run TV Ekhbariya disputed the claim, reporting that the projectile directed at Jizan was intercepted and failed to reach the airport.

Missile attacks on Saudi Arabia have become more frequent in recent months. Last November, ballistic missiles fired from Yemen reached the Saudi capital Riyadh.

The attacks are a response to an ongoing military campaign by a Saudi-led coalition, which has been bombing Yemen since March 2015.

The war has killed tens of thousands, leaving over eight million Yemenis in need of food assistance and more than one million infected with cholera.
